Adam W Cohen Photography
Natural, joyful, and romantic, I photograph weddings and events throughout New York, New England and beyond.
Weddings produce dazzling moments of affection, poignancy, exuberance, humor, and life-affirming connection. Creating pictures of such moments energizes and fulfills me. Seriously, I love photographing love.
I tell your wedding story through candid pictures featuring the personalities and relationships that make your celebration fun, meaningful, and distinctly yours. During our portrait session, I blend spontaneity and thoughtful guidance to create more intimate, artful, and naturally romantic images. I’ll help you look amazing and also give you space to share time alone. Throughout the day, whether I’m shooting with you or your guests, I will make sure we’re all comfortable, confident, and having a blast.
Your wedding photographer should be somebody you’ll feel glad is there, a professional you trust to deliver fantastic pictures of your momentous day, and a person around whom you’ll feel free to be yourself.

Hiring Adam for our NYC City Hall wedding was the best choice we made. He was punctual and professional. He was able to provide some direction on helping us hit poses and shots that we were looking forward to getting but was also very casual and easy to work with. Adam had found beautiful spots near City Hall for my husband and I to take our "couples" photos at. He was able to organize our family/group photos with ease. We loved the style and editing of the photos. He was able to capture fantastic candid moments of the group, ceremony, and our toddler (definitely not an easy feat!) without seeming intrusive. We would definitely recommend hiring Adam for any wedding or professional photo needs, you will not be disappointed!
Adam photographed our wedding 6/5/2015 at the boathouse in Prospect Park. When looking for a photographer, I was concerned with finding a photographer that could shoot multiracial couples, I heard horrors stories of either someone looking to pale or too dark in contrast. When we met, his style of listening and speaking made me feel comfortable enough to voice my concerns, and his explanation of lighting and his portfolio alleviated my concerns.
Adam's pictures captured all the details and emotions of our wedding day and the prep leading up to it. The pre-first look moments were my favorite! His vision of having us stand in ways that we couldn't see each other but the camera could see us both of us built up the anticipation and emotions leading up to our first look.
He was a great listener and really factored in what was important to us into our plan for the day and shots. We were also impressed with how much research he did to help prepare for the wedding day.
Adam helped shoot our 12/3/16 Fall/Winter wedding on Long Island. The photos captured the emotions we felt on that day: happiness, connectedness to our family and friends, confidence, pride, excitement, seriousness, and generosity, to name a few. Adam helped to capture all of the big and little moments from that day, so that we could come away with an almost play-by-play documentation of the evening. Adam took beautifully posed photos as well as candids, that provided a thoughtful balance to the work. We appreciate the creativity of many of the shots, particularly the feeling of movement created. On an interpersonal level, Adam's got a great sense of humor and clearly loves working with couples, families and children. We appreciate how he touched our lives on this important day. For all of these reasons we were so happy to work with Adam on our wedding day!

My wedding and family photography studio is based out of NYC and we cover the Tristate and New England area. I love this work because of who I am and what I care about. I'm a romantic realist. Photographing proof of the feelings that drive people to marry each other is not only a big part of my job, it’s also deeply, personally fulfilling for me.
